The following is an article that I thought was excellent - too late to do much good, but an interesting perspective by a black woman. Unfortunately, it could not have been written by a white person for fear of being called a racist...but this works ! ! !

The below summary of Barack and Michelle Obama's 6-

White House is by far the best I've ever read as it squarely hits the nail on the head.

And it took a black female reporter writing it to make it as effective as it is.        A white man's account would be instantly criticized by the liberal media as pure racism. But, how can anyone scream Racist when an exacting description of the Obamas is penned by a well- known journalist of color?

The other evening on my twitter, a person asked me why I didn't like the Obamas. Specifically I was asked: "I have to ask, why do you hate the Obamas?  It seems personal, not policy related.  You even dissed (disrespect) their Christmas family picture."

The truth is I do not like the Obamas, what they represent, their ideology, and I certainly do not like his policies and legislation.  I've made no secret of my contempt for the Obamas.  As I responded to the person who asked me the aforementioned question, I don't like them because they are committed to the fundamental change of my/our country into what can only be regarded as a Communist state.

I don't hate them per definition, but I condemn them because they are the worst kind of racialists, they are elitist Leninists with contempt for traditional America.  They display disrespect for the sanctity of the office he holds, and for those who are willing to admit same, Michelle Obama's raw contempt for white America is transpicuous.

I don't like them because they comport themselves as emperor and empress.  I expect, no I demand respect, for the Office of President, and a love of our country and her citizens, from the leader entrusted with the governance of same.

President and Mrs. Reagan displayed an unparalleled love for the country and her people.  The Reagans made Americans feel good about themselves and about what we could accomplish.

Obama's  arrogance by appointing 32 leftist czars and constantly bypassing Congress is impeachable.  Eric Holder is probably the MOST incompetent and arrogant DOJ head to ever hold the job.  Could you envision President Reagan instructing his Justice Department to act like jack-booted thugs?

Presidents are politicians, and all politicians are known and pretty much expected to manipulate the truth, if not outright lie.   But even using that low standard, the Obamas have taken lies, dishonesty, deceit, mendacity, subterfuge and obfuscation to new depths.  They are verbally abusive to the citizenry, and they display an animus for civility.

I do not like them because they both display bigotry overtly, as in the case of Harvard Professor Louis Gates when he accused the Cambridge Police of acting stupidly, and her code speak pursuant to now being able to be proud of America.  I view that statement and that mind set as an insult to those who died to provide a country where a Kenyan, his illegal alien relatives, and his alleged progeny could come and not only live freely, but rise to the highest, most powerful, position in the world.

Michelle Obama is free to hate and disparage whites because Americans of every description paid with their blood to ensure her right to do that.  I have a saying, that "the only reason a person hides things is because they have something to hide."  No President in history has spent over a million dollars to keep his records and his past sealed.  (AND THE 'SILENT MAJORITY' REMAIN SILENT!)

And what the two of them have shared has been proven to be lies.  He lied about when and how they met, he lied about his mother's death and problems with insurance, Michelle lied to a crowd pursuant to nearly $500,000 bank stocks they inherited from his family.  He has lied about his father's military service, about the civil rights movement, ad nausea.  He lied to the world about the Supreme Court in a State of the Union address.

He berated and publicly insulted a sitting Congressman.  He has surrounded himself with the most rabidly, radical, socialist academicians today.  (DON'T FORGET THE 'DEVOTED MUSLIMS' HE'S PLACED IN GOV'T)  He opposed rulings that protected women and children that even Planned Parenthood did not seek to support.  He is openly hostile to business and aggressively hostile to Israel.

His wife treats being the First Lady as her personal American Express Black Card (arguably the most prestigious credit card in the world).  I condemn them because, as people are suffering, losing their homes, their jobs, their retirements, he and his family are arrogantly showing off their life of entitlement - as he goes about creating and fomenting class warfare.

I don't like them, and I neither apologize nor retreat from my public condemnation of them and of his policies.  We should condemn them for the disrespect they show our people, for his willful and unconstitutional actions pursuant to obeying the Constitutional parameters he is bound by, and his willful disregard for Congressional authority.

Dislike for them has nothing to do with the color of their skin; it has everything to do with their behavior, attitudes, and policies.  And I have open scorn for their constantly playing the race card.  I could go on, but let me conclude with this.  I condemn in the strongest possible terms the media for refusing to investigate them, as they did President Bush and President Clinton, and for refusing to label them for what they truly are.  There is no scenario known to man, whereby a white President and his wife could ignore laws, flaunt their position, and lord over the people, as these two are permitted out of fear for their color.

As I wrote in a syndicated column titled, "Nero In The White House" - "Never in my life, inside or outside of politics, have I witnessed such dishonesty in a political leader.  He is the most mendacious political figure I have ever witnessed. Even by the low standards of his Presidential predecessors, his narcissistic, contumacious arrogance is unequaled.  Using Obama as the bar, Nero would have to be elevated to sainthood.

Many in America wanted to be proud when the first person of color was elected President, but instead, they have been witness to a congenital liar, a First Lady who has been ashamed of America her entire life, failed policies, intimidation, and a commonality hitherto not witnessed in political leaders.  He and his wife view their life at our expense as an entitlement - while America 's people go homeless, hungry and unemployed.

This is an article by Allen West that is not only excellent and informative - but truly frightening. I do not understand how Obama can get away with this crap without the people rising up to stop him. Anyone with half a brain knows he's harbored Islamic leanings for a long time, but this borders on the criminal.

People need to know this and that's a problem - you know you won't hear this on the evening news - except maybe, on Fox...so, please, spread this around as much as you can ... I fear that people will die because of this action of our president.  That is an awful feeling to have of the person who has sworn to "serve and protect "us - the people of the United States of America.  Instead he has put many more of us in jeopardy with his treasonous actions.

I say "treasonous" with trepidation ... it is not a word that I banter around.  But isn't aiding and abetting the enemy treason???? If that is the definition, than our President is a traitor.



As I write this, I have no idea what Israel’s election results will be — but I do know my desired result. There is much evidence that the Obama administration had worked to secure a defeat for Prime Minister Netanyahu — of course the progressive socialists will deny and dismiss it as they always do.

However, there is another critical indicator that President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry wish to have an accommodating left-leaning person in Israel to enable their policy scheme.

Front Page Magazine reports, “You know the country responsible for killing hundreds of Marines, which provided sanctuary to al-Qaida and whose terrorist proxies helped give al-Qaida the skills to carry out 9/11? They’re no longer terrorists. Sure their terrorist groups currently control parts of Lebanon and Yemen, but they’re not terrorists. Because if Iran was a state sponsor of terror, then Obama letting them have the bomb might look bad. This way it’s fine.”

That is correct ladies and gents, the Obama administration has removed the number one state sponsor of terrorism from the list of terrorists — just like they refuse to place the venerable Muslim Brotherhood on that list, or for that matter, the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) — funny, even the UAE and Egypt did.

This reminds me of the story from Star Trek that gave Captain William T. Kirk his fame — he was the only Star Fleet cadet who defeated the Kobiyashi Maru scenario. Well, we came to find out he simply went into the system and changed it so he could defeat the game.

And so it goes with the Obama administration — folks claim you shouldn’t enter into a nuclear negotiation and deal with the number one global sponsor of terrorism? Then take them off the terrorist list, and voila! Any other complaints?

However, it’s just not that easy as we draw close to the ill-conceived desire of Obama to appease the mad mullahs and theocrats of the Islamic regime. There has been no change in behavior from Iran – as a matter of fact, it has worsened. Iran still holds Americans hostage and a new report shows — something we’ve known for some time — Iran has a presence in Venezuela. So President Obama can decree Iran isn’t a terrorist state but the stripes of the tiger do not define the ferocious nature of the big cat.

And it’s not just redefining Iran to suit his desires. Obama has also redefined Iran’s greatest terrorist proxy force, Hezbollah. “That clarifies that Obama no longer considers Hezbollah an enemy (not that he ever did). Instead it’s an ally that is classed together with Lebanon, rather than a threat to it.”

All this is contained in a recent report from James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence — that title does seem somewhat oxymoronic.

The report states, “An annual report delivered recently to the US Senate…removed Iran and Hezbollah from its list of terrorism threats, after years in which they featured in similar reports. In describing Iran’s regional role, the report noted the Islamic Republic’s “intentions to dampen sectarianism, build responsive partners, and deescalate tensions with Saudi Arabia,” but cautioned that “Iranian leaders—particularly within the security services—are pursuing policies with negative secondary consequences for regional stability and potentially for Iran.”

“Lebanon faces growing threats from terrorist groups, including the al-Nusrah Front and ISIL. Sunni extremists are trying to establish networks in Lebanon and have increased attacks against Lebanese army and Hezballah positions along the Lebanese-Syrian border. Lebanon potentially faces a protracted conflict in northern and eastern parts of the country from extremist groups seeking to seize Lebanese territory, supplies, and hostages.”

So not only have Iran and Hezbollah been removed from the list — they seem to be praised and made out to be victims. Folks, you just cannot make this stuff up — and I must once again ask, just who is “traitorous?”

Let’s take a walk down memory lane recalling that famous quote about those who fail to remember history ending up repeating it.

“The worst part for me is that nobody remembers,” Mark Nevells said last year on the anniversary of the Hezbollah bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut. A Marine had thrown his body in front of the truck to try stop the vehicle and afterward for five days, Nevells and other Marines had dug through the rubble for the bodies of the men they had served with. One of the first Marines on the scene heard voices coming from underneath the rubble. “Get us out. Don’t leave us.”

Or do any of us remember this: “Colonel William R. Higgins was captured by Hezbollah, the terrorist group acting as Iran’s hand in Lebanon, and tortured for months until his body was dumped near a mosque. An autopsy report found that he had been starved and had suffered multiple lethal injuries that could have caused his death. The skin on his face had been partially removed along with his tongue and he had also been castrated.”

Or this: “Like Higgins, William Francis Buckley, the CIA station chief, was also captured and tortured for months. On video tapes released by his Hezbollah captors, he was incoherent and his mind had been broken by the horrors inflicted on his ravaged body and his soul. “They had done more than ruin his body,” CIA Director William Casey said. “His eyes made it clear his mind had been played with. It was horrific, medieval and barbarous.”

Lastly how about this: “Robert Stethem, a Navy diver, was brutally murdered when Hezbollah terrorists took over TWA flight 847. The Iranian-backed terrorists, one of whom was Imad Mughniyah, beat and kicked him to death. “They were jumping in the air and landing full force on his body. He must have had all his ribs broken,” Uli Derickson, the stewardess, described. “I was sitting only 15 feet away. I couldn’t listen to it. I put my fingers in my ears. I will never forget. I could still hear. They put the mike up to his face so his screams could be heard by the outside world.”

And don’t forget Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist Ali Musa Daqduq, who was responsible for the kidnapping and ritual murder of five U.S. Soldiers in Iraq — of course Obama would just blame Bush. However, it was Obama who released this terrorist to the Iraqis who subsequently set him free.

Iran is still an Islamic totalitarian, terrorist state, and Hezbollah is its proxy Islamic terrorist army. The Obama administration can do as Captain Kirk and change the rules but it does not change the truth or the behavior.

What it shows is that Barack Obama will dishonor the memory of anyone in order to get what he wants — regardless of what it entails for the cause of liberty and freedom. I’m waiting for the typical progressive socialist trolls to defend this action of removing Iran and Hezbollah from the list of terrorist threats facing our Republic.

Please, give us an explanation of this policy, help us to understand what we are missing here — truthfully, you cannot, and if you try to, then join our list, the list of those who wish to fundamentally transform America and embolden our enemies.

This is shameful — and once again, I call upon the GOP-controlled House and Senate to draft and pass a resolution of censure against President Barack Hussein Obama. That’s not me being political. That’s me being an American.

Bill says: "Hillary spent a year after graduation working on a children's rights project for poor kids." The facts are: Hillary interned with Bob Truehaft, the head of the California Communist Party. Bill says: "Hillary could have written her own job ticket, but she turned down all the lucrative job offers." The facts are: She flunked the DC bar exam; yes, flunked. It is a matter of record, and only passed the Arkansas bar. She did not join the prestigious Rose Law Firm until Bill became Arkansas Attorney General and was made a partner only after he was elected Arkansas Governor. The facts are: The appointment was in exchange for Bill's support for Carter in his 1980 primary against Ted Kennedy. Hillary then became chairman in a coup in which she won a majority away from Carter's choice to be chairman. Bill says: "She served on the board of the Arkansas Children's Hospital." The facts are: Yes, she did. But her main board activity, not mentioned by Bill, was to sit on the Walmart board of directors for a substantial fee. She was silent about their labor and health care practices. Bill says: "Hillary didn't succeed at getting health care for all Americans in 1994, but she kept working at it and helped to create the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) that provides five million children with health insurance." The facts are: Hillary had nothing to do with creating CHIP. It was included in the budget deal between Clinton and Republican Majority Leader Senator Trent Lott. I know; I helped negotiate the deal. The money came half from the budget deal and half from the Attorney Generals' tobacco settlement. Hillary had nothing to do with either source of funds. Bill says: "Hillary was the face of America all over the world." The facts are: Her visits were part of a program to get her out of town so that Bill would not appear weak by feeding stories that Hillary was running the White House. Her visits abroad were entirely touristic and symbolic and there was no substantive diplomacy on any of them. Bill says: "Hillary was an excellent Senator who kept fighting for children's and women's issues." The facts are: Other than totally meaningless legislation like changing the names on courthouses and post offices, she has passed only four substantive pieces of legislation. One set up a national park in Puerto Rico . A second provided respite care for family members helping their relatives through Alzheimer's or other conditions. And two were routine bills to aid 911 victims and responders which were sponsored by the entire NY delegation. Presently she is trying to have the US memorialize the Woodstock fiasco of 40 years ago. Here is what bothers me more than anything else about Hillary Clinton: She has done everything possible to weaken the President and our country (that's you and me!) when it comes to the war on terror. 1.   She wants to close GITMO and move the combatants to the USA where they would have access to our legal system. 2.   She wants to eliminate the monitoring of suspected Al Qaeda phone calls to/from the USA . 3.   She wants to grant constitutional rights to enemy combatants captured on the battlefield. 4.   She wants to eliminate the monitoring of money transfers between suspected Al Qaeda cells and supporters in the USA . 5.   She wants to eliminate the type of interrogation tactics used by the military & CIA where coercion might be used when questioning known terrorists even though such tactics might save American lives. One cannot think of a single bill Hillary has introduced or a single comment she has made that would tend to strengthen our country in the War on Terror. But, one can think of a lot of comments she has made that weaken our country and make it a more dangerous situation for all of us. Bottom line: She goes hand in hand with the ACLU on far too many issues where common sense is abandoned. Share this with every democrat you know. Ask them to prove Dick Morris wrong. Think about it --- Dick Morris has said all of this openly, thus if he were not truthful he'd be liable for defamation of character! And you better believe Hillary would sue him. Is America ready for a woman president? Perhaps we are, but definitely NOT THIS one.

 

Muslim Meeting in the White House

I found this today on Facebook and it is from Alan West.  I have said for several years that Obama, at least, has Muslim leaning tendencies, at worst, is a Muslim.  After the debacle at the Prayer Breakfast the later is looking more likely than the former. Not that being a Muslim is so bad, but a don't think that it is appropriate for a Judeo- Christian based country such as ours to have a Muslim leader.. Especially during this time of terror that the radical Muslims are subjecting us to. This is certainly not the way that he presented himself to the American people during the elections.

I also think that we must think about the face that America is presenting to the world.  We insult and denigrate our oldest ally in the Mideast, Israel,.  There are operatives of Obama there now working to unseat their prime minister. We did not adhere to the treaty that we had with the Ukraine, and we have thrown them under the bus. Obama's golf is more important to him than the beheading of Americans. The King of Jordan has at least, made ISIS pay for the burning of a Jordanian pilot ... we have done nothing.

We are at a point where our friends don't trust us and our enemies don't fear us - not a good place to be and for Obama to be meeting in "the people's house" with radical Muslims is criminal

Remember the piece I wrote firmly stating several reasons why President Barack Obama is an Islamist sympathizer? I think the case was laid out rather simply and wasn’t based on conjecture, but fact, actions and policies by the president. Of course I’m not the only one to say so. More and more Americans are coming to that conclusion as well.

You have to scratch your head after watching the recent Vox.com interview where Obama referred to the Paris Jewish Kosher store terror attackers as “folks” and “random.” And of course thehistorically inaccurate moral equivalency and relativism proclamations of the president at the National Prayer Breakfast further solidifies the case of our  president sympathizing with the Islamist enemy.

However, last week something happened even more damning for Obama (if that’s possible) — and he doesn’t seem to care. As you might recall, President Obama met with American Muslim leaders at the White House, but the administration was unwilling to reveal who attended the meeting, which was closed to the press.

But as reported by Investors Business Daily, “After complaints, the White House finally released names of the “Muslim leaders” Obama met with behind closed doors a week ago Wednesday. Now we know why it was secret. The list includes members of known jihadist groups. After stonewalling for days about the names of participants at the almost two-hour meeting with the president and his national security advisers — a meeting that was granted at the request of Muslim Advocates, an Islamist group that’s demanded a stop to NYPD surveillance of radical mosques, anti-terrorist drone strikes and Gitmo detentions — the White House quietly attached the list of attendees to the back of its daily press briefing transcript Thursday evening, according to the Washington Times.”

As you recall, it was the following day that President Obama delivered his very offensive and controversial comments at the National Prayer Breakfast. Here are some of the 14 Muslim leaders who had our presidents’ ear for two hours according to Investors Business Daily:

Imam Mohamed Magid, who preaches at a fundamentalist Northern Virginia mosque that has listed a number of trustees and major donors whose offices and homes were raided after 9/11 by federal agents on suspicion of funding terrorists.

Azhar Azeez, president of the Islamic Society of North America, a known radical Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas front group that remains on the Justice Department’s list of unindicted terrorist co-conspirators.

Sherman Jackson, who as the King Faisal Chair of Islamic Thought at USC, once gave a lecture at a conference in Toronto that has been described by “Campus Watch” as a “call to battle” between Muslims and the West.

Hoda Hawa (Elshishtawy) national policy analyst for the Muslim Public Affairs Council, which was founded by known members of the Muslim Brotherhood, a worldwide jihadist movement. The group’s former president, Salam al-Marayati, was once kicked off the National Commission on Terrorism after his defense of terrorist acts and the groups who carry them out was revealed.

It’s noteworthy that no representatives of the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations, a terror-tied group the FBI has banned from outreach events, were invited to the White House. The FBI says CAIR is a “front” for the Hamas terrorist group.”

CAIR does however possess very posh headquarters on Capitol Hill and is an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest Islamic terrorist funding case in U.S. history — the Holy Land Foundation – but who cares, right?

I just want to ask a simple question. When was the last time Obama met with Christian leaders? (And Reverends Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, or Jeremiah Wright are not what I’m talking about).

Where are the voices of secular humanists and atheists, like the Freedom From Religion Foundation screaming about separation of church and state? I tend to believe there is an unholy alliance between progressive socialists, Islamo-fascists, and secular humanists. They do all seem to form the base for Islamapologists.

Aren’t you dying to know what they discussed?

“According to the Detroit Free Press, “the White House ordered the Muslim attendees not to talk after the meeting about what Obama said during the discussion. However, some have broken the ground rules and leaked what was discussed.”

“Topping the agenda was “anti-Muslim bigotry” and banning Muslim terrorist profiling by federal law enforcement. Participants said they got a sympathetic ear from Obama. The president reportedly entertained the idea of naming Muslim judges to federal courts. Meanwhile, the most pressing Muslim-related issue of our time — violent jihadism — was not discussed.”

So let me ask of y’all, what do you think will be the topic of the upcoming White House meeting on “violent extremism?” And who will be in attendance for that summit? I can bet there won’t be any Christian leaders — can’t have those mean Crusaders around.

So who will be defined as the “violent extremists” at the conference — the Tea Party? After all, how many times have we heard the voices on the left refer to Constitutional Conservatives as such?

Yesterday we found out that Kayla Mueller, a 26-year-old American woman was killed at the hands of ISIS — they were holding her hostage. Our response? Perhaps we’ll have more Islamic sharia courts like what’s rumored to be right here close to me in Irving, Texas.

Remember the rally for Charlie Hebdo? Of course you don’t, that’s how we roll in Western civilization, with emotional empty responses. Jordan knew how to respond — you didn’t hear about King Abdullah having meetings with Muslim Brotherhood affiliated individuals.

I will close with these thoughts from the Investors Business Daily article for you to ponder.

“If it seems Obama is more interested in protecting the Muslim community than America, that’s because he is more interested. As he vowed after 9/11, revealed in his 2006 memoir: “I will stand with (Muslims)” — even if Muslims are tied to another 9/11.That is, it is their “sense of security” that concerns him, and it is their needs he will tend to — over the needs and security of the majority of Americans. This is the man who’s supposed to be protecting America from violent Muslim fanatics. This is our commander in chief for the next two years, a period that may prove the most dangerous terrorist stretch in our history.”

Yes, the actions, statements, and policies of President Obama do lend one to believe he is an Islamist sympathizer. There are too many disturbing unanswered questions. Where was the request for authorization to support Islamists in Libya, and why did he abandon Americans to die in Benghazi and then lie about it? Why such affinity for the Muslim Brotherhood — going back to that 2009 speech in Cairo when he insisted they be seated in front?

If nothing else, it is time for the Congress — House and Senate — to vote on a resolution for censure.

Interesting that the LA times did this.  Lou Dobbs reported this on CNN and it cost him his job.  The only network we would see this on would be FOX.  All the others are staying away from it.  Whether you are a Democrat or Republican this should be of great interest to you!  Just One State - be sure and read the last part ... try for 3 times.  This is only one State ... 1.  40% of all workers in L.A. County (L.A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes.  This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.

2.  95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3.  75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4.  Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

Windfall Tax on Retirement Income -- Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you.  Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income.  In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement.  This woman is a nut case!  You aren't going to believe this.

Nancy Pelosi wanted to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds!

Alas, it is true -- all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!  This woman is frightening. She quotes ... 'We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this?), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest. (I am not rich, are you?)’

When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied:
“We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities.  For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities.  Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans''.

Read that quote again and again and let it sink in ... Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it.

Black and White TV - or a Trip Down Memory Lane

It's time for a few chuckles - Lord knows, there's little enough in the world today...so read on, especially those of you who are a bit older.

Black and White (Under age 40? You won't understand.)

You could hardly see for all the snow, Spread the rabbit ears as far as they go. Pull a chair up to the TV set, 'Good Night, David. Good Night, Chet.'

My Mom used to cut chicken, chop eggs and spread mayo on the same cutting board with the same knife and no bleach, but we didn't seem to get food poisoning.   My Mom used to defrost hamburger on the counter and I used to eat it raw sometimes, too. Our school sandwiches were wrapped in wax paper in a brown paper bag, not in ice pack coolers, but I can't remember getting e.coli.

Almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake instead of a pristine pool (talk about boring), no beach closures then.    The term cell phone would have conjured up a phone in a jail cell, and a pager was the school PA system.

We all took gym, not PE...and risked permanent injury with a pair of high top Ked's (only worn in gym) instead of having cross-training athletic shoes with air cushion soles and built in light reflectors. I can't recall any injuries but they must have happened because they tell us how much safer we are now.

Flunking gym was not an option.... even for stupid kids! I guess PE must be much harder than gym.    Speaking of school, we all said prayers and sang the national anthem, and staying in detention after school caught all sorts of negative attention.   We must have had horribly damaged psyches. What an archaic health system we had then... Remember school nurses? Ours wore a hat and everything.   I thought that I was supposed to accomplish something before I was allowed to be proud of myself.   I just can't recall how bored we were without computers, Play Station, Nintendo, X-box or 270 digital TV cable stations.   We played 'king of the hill' on piles of gravel left on vacant construction sites, and when we got hurt, Mom pulled out the 48-cent bottle of mercurochrome (kids liked it better because it didn't sting like iodine did) and then we got our butt spanked.

Now it's a trip to the emergency room, followed by a 10-day dose of a $49 bottle of antibiotics, and then Mom calls the attorney to sue the contractor for leaving a horribly vicious pile of gravel where it was such a threat.   We didn't act up at the neighbor's house either; because if we did we got our butt spanked there and then we got our butt spanked again when we got home.

I recall Donny Reynolds from next door coming over and doing his tricks on the front stoop, just before he fell off. Little did his Mom know that she could have owned our house. Instead, she picked him up and swatted him for being such a goof. It was a neighborhood run amuck.

To top it off, not a single person I knew had ever been told that they were from a dysfunctional family.   How could we possibly have known that we needed to get into group therapy and anger management classes?   We were obviously so duped by so many societal ills, that we didn't even notice that the entire country wasn't taking Prozac!   How did we ever survive?   LOVE TO ALL OF US WHO SHARED THIS ERA; AND TO ALL WHO DIDN'T, SORRY FOR WHAT YOU MISSED. I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING!   Pass this to someone and remember that life's most simple pleasures are very often the best.
